There are several types of desiccants used nowadays like molecular sieves, silica gel, activated alumina and many other as well. The type of desiccant is selected on the basis of the requirement. Moisture is the biggest enemy against retaining the freshness of any item whether it is food, pharmaceutical or even any electronic item. So, among so many desiccants how to decide which one to use? Remember that time when you found small packets in the pocket of your new leather jackets or shoes. The main purpose of keeping the packet is that it helps to absorb odor.
